The
purpose of this decision is to approve the Council’s response
to the government’s consultation on Reforming the Right to
Buy.

approve the consultation response as set out in Appendix A –
Reforming the Right to Buy.

Reasons for the decision

The
proposed changes to policy are positive with the aim to deliver a
fairer, better value and more sustainable scheme.

Alternative options considered

Option
1: To not respond to the consultation.
Reason
for Rejection: The proposed changes to policy within the
consultation paper will affect the Housing Service and therefore it
is important that the Council inputs into any policy decisions made
by Government.
