Bin Delivery Charge Update
March 27, 2025 Lead Cabinet member for Resources (Cabinet member) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Work
conducted by the transformation team for GCSWS identified changes
that could be made to the proposed fees and charges for waste that
were not captured at the Cabinet budget meeting and we would like
to incorporate into the 25_26 budget.
The changes are as follows:
Delivery of additional black bin charge for large families
£30 (was £55). A drop in income of £5,512 based
on typical number of request in a year
Delivery of replacement of any lost bin £30.00 (was free).
This will generate an estimate income of £42,500 based on
typical number of requests in a year and more than offset the drop
income from the additional black bin charge.
These
changes are recommended to bring them in line with existing
approved delivery charges of:
Delivery of new bins set £90 (3 bins@ £30
each)
Delivery of 3rd and 4th blue bins £30 each.
Recent
research also showed that £30 is the typical charge for bin
delivery for other councils.
Content
Agreed
to set charges as follows to incorporate them into the 2025/26
Budget:
(i)
Delivery of additional black bin charge for large families
£30 (was £55).
(ii)
Delivery of replacement of any lost bin £30.00 (was
free)
