Purpose
On 26 October 2023 the Grants
Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications
received between 7 September and 7 October 2023.
Four applications were brought
forward in
‘Appendix A’ of the meeting reports pack.
After consideration of these
applications, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member
for Resources that:
1.
Melbourn Community Hub Management Group (JWHVTQTK)
be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000
2.
Active with Parkinson's Cambs (DPSSSWKL) be approved and funded at the full
amount requested of £2,000
3.
Newton Village Rooms (ZCFQPKXB) is not funded but
deferred-please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons
for rejection’ section.
4.
Cambridge Past Present & Future (HBCKJJQW) is
not funded-please see the ‘Other
options considered and reasons for rejection’
section.

To accept the recommendations
of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above).
Reasons for the decision
The
applications were considered in detail by the Grants Advisory
Committee and there is sufficient budget available.
Alternative options considered
To reject or vary the
recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee and decide on the
level of funding (£0 - £2,000) to be awarded for each
or defer a decision if further information is required from grant
applicants.
As per above, the application
from Newton Village Rooms (ZCFQPKXB)
requesting £2,000 has been deferred, pending
further information on the Charity Commission Custodian ownership
and whether a quote can be obtained instead of an estimated
cost.
As per above, the application
from Cambridge Past Present & Future
(HBCKJJQW) requesting £2,000 has not
been funded as the applicant has not provided a request for funding
for a specific item(s).
