August 16, 2023 Communities Manager (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The purpose of this decision is
to decide whether the land/building should be included as an asset
of community value (“ACV”) on the Council’s
register of ACVs.
On 13 July 2023 a nomination
was received from Haslingfield Parish Council in respect of
The House of Spice (formerly known as The Little Rose Public
House), 7 Orchard Road, Haslingfield, Cambridge, CB23 1JT. This is
a re-nomination of an asset that was removed from the list on 02
July 2019 in accordance with the legislation following expiry of
the listing.
Following consideration of the
nomination, Notice of Nomination was sent to Cllrs Lisa Redrup
Ariel Cahn and Michael Atkins, (Harston & Comberton), to the
Parish Council acknowledging their nomination and to the owners.
The nomination was publicised through the weekly bulletin and the
Lead Member for Communities was notified.
Content
Officers have considered the
nomination and are satisfied that:
(a) there is a time in the
recent past when an actual use of the building or other land that
was not an ancillary use furthered the social well-being or
interests of the local community, and
(b) it is realistic to think
that there is a time in the next five years when there could be
non-ancillary use of the building or other land that would further
(whether or not in the same way as before) the social well-being or
social interests of the local community’.
Therefore, it can be accepted,
in accordance with Section 88 (2) of the Localism Act
2011.
