About
The General Licensing Committee is responsible for determining issues related to licensing and registration within South Oxfordshire. It sets the licensing policy for hackney carriage and private hire vehicles, with a sub-committee handling individual taxi licensing cases. The committee also oversees policies on contaminated land, air quality, health and safety, street trading consents, and street naming. It does not handle licensing under the Licensing Act 2003 or the Gambling Act 2005, which are managed by a separate committee.
