The Joint Scrutiny Committee, made up of five councillors from South Oxfordshire District Council and five from Vale of White Horse District Council, reviews and scrutinises the performance of both councils. It considers matters affecting both areas or their inhabitants, including the performance of contractors delivering joint contracts. The committee also acts as the crime and disorder committee for the councils. It does not make decisions but provides recommendations to the relevant Cabinet members, officers, and the councils themselves. The public can observe most meetings, with opportunities to speak or ask questions by registering in advance.
