Purpose

CE05 details a proposal from Arup to undertake a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan - a requirement for the OBC/FBC. This was not specified in the original scope for Arup’s appointment. The SYMCA Project Manager asked Arup to price for this aspect due to resource capacity constraints. CE05 is priced at £9,696.33. Undertaking the necessary project monitoring and evaluation activity sits outside of this appointment and will need to be accommodated within the overall project cost plan and could be procured outside of Arup’s appointment.

CE03 details a proposed overarching CE covering 17 separate elements where additional work is required by Arup resulting in a fee increase. The majority of this relates to the additional work arising because of the change from a single deck solution to a Multi Storey Car Park. This CE03 is priced at £116,755.53.

The total CE amount for which approval is sought is therefore £9,696.33 plus £116,755.53 = £126,451.86. This would take Arup’s total contract value to £430,454.88, which is 47.25% above the original total.
