Full council record
Purpose
Following the “Mapping BF Systems Priorities” meeting in September, the DTS team have spent time validating priorities, estimating the size/scale of deliverables and producing a resource plan.
The following new posts have been identified as being applicable to being progressed through the recruitment process (i.e. not an agency).
1) Cyber Security Engineer
This role will sit in the new Cyber Security Team but will be dedicated to Bus Franchising. The post will ensure that BF technology delivery as a whole adheres to the organisation’s standards of cyber protection.
2) DTS Project Support Officer
This role will provide project support and coordination across all DTS Bus Franchising workstreams. It will ensure that project information, governance processes, documentation and reporting are maintained effectively and will support Programme and Project Managers to deliver.
Decision
The decision is to recruit the following posts ASAP for two years with the option to extend or make permanent.
1) Cyber Security Engineer (not yet job evaluated but estimated to be grade 9).
2) DTS Project Support Officer (grade 6)
Alternative options considered
Alternative options, including reallocating work within DTS were considered, however, the scale of work is too large and the DTS team has little, if any, available capacity.
Agency recruitment was also considered but discounted because of the cost and the expectation that these roles may eventually become permanent.
