The Schools Forum is responsible for making decisions on matters where it has statutory authority and advising the Council on key aspects of strategy and budget, considering broader educational issues. It provides independent consultation and scrutiny on changes to the schools funding formula and the initial determination of the schools budget. The Forum also reviews invitations to tender for supplies and services before they are issued and advises on spending for specific issues outlined in its terms of reference.
