June 16, 2025 Cabinet (Cabinet collective) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
To present Cabinet with the Council’s
current corporate risk register. The Corporate Risk Register
captures the high-level risks potentially impacting delivery of the
council’s priorities. It is essential that the Council
reviews and monitors its risks regularly and where necessary put in
reasonable mitigations.
Decision
The Cabinet considered a report
of the Executive Director (Strategy and Change) presenting the
revised Corporate Risk Register which set out the key risks to the
successful delivery of the Council’s priorities and
objectives and outlined the key management arrangements in place to
mitigate and reduce the likelihood of the risks
crystallising.
Resolved:
That the revised Corporate Risk
Register and the position in April 2025, set out at Appendix 1 to
the submitted report, be noted and that the actions being taken to
manage the risks, be endorsed.
Reasons for
decision:
The Accounts and Audit
Regulations 2015 require that a relevant authority must ensure it
has a sound system of internal control which facilitates the
effective exercise of its function and the achievement of its aims
and objectives, ensures that the financial and operational
management of the authority is effective and includes effective
arrangements for the management of risk.
Other options:
None.
