The Cabinet considered a report
of the Executive Director (Children and Public Health) presenting
the Council’s response to the Local Government and Social
Care Ombudsman (LGSCO) Public Interest Report in relation to a
complaint raised with the LGSCO by a Southend resident.
 
Resolved:
 
1. That, in accordance with the
Local Government Act 1974, the findings of the Local Government and
Social Care Ombudsman’s Public Interest Report published on 3
April 2025, as set out in the submitted report, be
noted.
 
2. That the proposed remedies
and the actions taken in response to those remedies as set out in
the report, be noted.
 
Reasons for
decision:
 
The Council is required to
formally consider an LGSCO report when the LGSCO publishes a public
interest report.
