Leader of the Council approves the recommendations in the report.

Decision

That the Leader of the Council approved the following:

  1. That the 17 responses received to the statutory consultation on the proposed amendments to Howland Way & Reverley Square’ existing Controlled Parking Zone ‘S’ (CPZ ‘S’), Traffic Management Order reference TMO2425-023 CPZ S changes be considered. 
  2. That the amendment to restriction type, bay type, loading and waiting restrictions having regard to the consultation responses be approved as summarised below:
  3. 1  Introduce 'Permit Holders Past This Point' zone in Reveley Square and Somerford Way. These areas will be clearly signposted at their entry points with standard 'Permit Holders Past This Point' signs in accordance with Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (2016 Directions). The signs will indicate that only vehicles displaying a valid residents’, business, or visitors’ parking permit may park during the restricted hours (8.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday (inclusive)). Eligible vehicles may be parked at any section of the kerbside that is not otherwise marked or restricted, provided that they do not obstruct the passage of other vehicles. 
  4. 2  Introduce a ‘Permit Holders Past This Point’ zone in the square of Steers Way. 
  5. 3  Changes to Howland Way to introduce CPZ 'S' 'Permit Holders Past This Point' south-east of its junction with Steers Way. To remove all existing permit holders’ only parking bay markings (totaling 127 meters), and remove the majority of existing double yellow line restrictions (approximately 130.5 meters to remain);
  6. 4  The addition of new double yellow lines in Howland Way, Steers Way and Somerford Way to prevent parking on turns and on the approach to junctions.
