connectivity to Keele University.
• Funding is mainly from the Newcastle Town Deal fund
(£371,000) with a contribution of £109312.44 from

Two tender options were requested – for an hourly and
half-hourly frequency timetable.
• Contract is for 2 years.

• 2 bids were received: Bennetts Travel and D&G Bus Ltd.
D&G offered both options, Bennetts only the hourly
option.
• The D&G half hourly bid was within the forecast allowed
for SCC spend when added to the Newcastle TD funding so was
selected as it was felt the higher frequency was more attractive to
potential users and more likely to become viable in the long
