Purpose

To approve capital funding obtained through
planning obligations (Section 106) to provide additional
accommodation at Paulet High School to mitigate new residential
housing development in the catchment area.

Content

To approve the utilisation of Section 106
(capital) funding for an expansion project to provide additional
dining and resource spaces at Paulet High school. The accommodation
delivered will provide an additional 15 school places per year
group totalling 90 places.

The expansion project will enable the Academy to increase PAN from
150 to 165 from September 2024 providing the additional places
necessary to accommodate pupils generated from new housing
developments in the school’s catchment area. The additional
accommodation will alleviate pressure at the school and provide
sufficient accommodation to deliver the curriculum
effectively.
This project was submitted for a Delegated Decision and the
recommendations approved on 6th September 2023. It has been
resubmitted as there is a need for an increased S106 contribution.
In addition, the Academy Trust have agreed to contribute
£60,000 towards the project.
