Property Sub Committee on 27 November 2024
decided to grant a lease to Walton Hall Academy/Shaw Education
Trust for the provision of post 16 education.

The proposal at the time was for a 10 year lease. However, a lease
of that period would require Department for Education approval. The
timescale for such approval puts the project at risk of delivery to
allow commencement of teaching in September 2025.

However, a 7 year or less lease does not require such
approval.

Therefore, the decision is to agree a change in terms from 10 years
to 7 years.
