Cabinet (Housing) Committee

The Cabinet (Housing) Committee has been established to oversee and make decisions on housing matters within the Borough, increasing the Council Cabinet’s focus on this area, and ensuring alignment of strategic direction of the Council.   The objectives include:  

·         To oversee how housing issues within the Borough are being addressed

·         To oversee the delivery of services, including the management and maintenance of council housing stock (delivered by SHG by way of a Management Agreement)

·         To ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation and regulations

·         To monitor and review housing performance and service delivery

·         To make decisions reserved to the Council as part of the Management Agreement with SHG   The Sub-Committee has the delegated authority to discharge all functions of the Cabinet as far as they relate to housing.
