The Cabinet Member for
Parks, Highways & Transport Services has given approval to the
legal advertisement for the establishment of two Puffin Crossings
on Station Road, Marple, as per appendix A and the attached
drawings:

Marple Leisure Hub

Proposed Puffin Crossings

Station Road; located centrally 10.5 metres northeast from the
projected northeastern kerbline of
Hollins Green Road with a controlled parking area of 47
metres.

Station Road; located centrally 20 metres southwest from the
projected south western kerbline of St
Martins Close with a controlled parking area of 71 metres.

Alternative options considered

Other options were considered as part of the
design process, but the two Puffin Crossings on Station Road were
considered the most appropriate measures to achieve the objectives
of the scheme in improving road safety and access for cyclists and
pedestrians to/from the residential areas to the north of Marple
town centre.
