Purpose

To expand the options available to residents
and encourage the transition to zero-emission vehicles, the
appended policy statement has been drafted to provide a means by
which residents may be able to charge their vehicles from home
without access to off-street parking. This will provide a potential
interim solution for home vehicle charging while other projects
come to fruition.

The Cabinet has
considered a report detailing a proposal policy statement that
would open permission for residents to charge an electric vehicle
from on-street by way of a charging cable and cable mat, subject to
conditions, and has then approved and adopted the Home Charging
Policy Statement.
