The Cabinet Member for Parks, Highways &
Transport Services has given approval to the Stockport Town Centre
West – Active Travel scheme and the following recommendations
set out in Section 6 of the report and those recommended to the
Cabinet Member by the Stockport Central Area Committee, to be
funded by the UK Government’s City Regional Transport
Settlement (CRSTS) for the wider package of improvements and MDC
Access Package to support the Station access works:
Option A of the Hardman Street proposals to make Hardman Street one
way (southbound) from East Street to Gradwell Street supported by
pavement buildouts at the junction of Hardman Street with Gradwell
Street with a contraflow northbound cycle lane and double yellow
lines.
2.
Option B of Hollywood Park including re-surfacing the path and
providing signage, tactile paving and a demarcation strip to
current guidelines.
13.
Option B involving closure of Moseley Street to vehicular traffic
at Shaw Heath, allowing only pedestrian and cycle access along with
provision of a continuous footway cycleway at the closure point.
This will be supported by introduction of no loading restrictions
