Purpose

The Council will be asked to approve the
redesignation of Woodford Neighbourhood Forum and Mellor, Marple
Bridge, Mill Brow & Compstall Neighbourhood Forum to act in
relation to their respective defined neighbourhood areas.

Content

The Cabinet has
considered a proposal for the redesignation of Woodford
Neighbourhood Forum and Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow &
Compstall Neighbourhood Forum to act in
relation to their respective defined neighbourhood areas, and
has:-
 
(1) Given approval to
the redesignation of:-
 
(i) Woodford Neighbourhood Forum; and
(ii) Mellor, Marple
Bridge, Mill Brow & Compstall
Neighbourhood Forum;
 
to act in relation to
their respective defined neighbourhood areas insofar as this
relates to the discharge of executive functions.
 
(2) Recommended that
the Council Meeting gives approval to the redesignation
of:-
 
(i) Woodford Neighbourhood Forum; and
(ii) Mellor, Marple
Bridge, Mill Brow & Compstall
Neighbourhood Forum;
 
to act in relation to
their respective defined neighbourhood areas insofar as this
relates to the discharge of non-executive functions.

Alternative options considered

The decision options
are either to approve or decline. The option to decline has been
rejected because, in each case, no other body has applied to act in
relation to the neighbourhood area. No reasons are known to decline
the application.
