Purpose

The report provides information about the
Scrutiny Review that was undertaken to analyse post-16 education
outcomes in Stockport, particularly for vulnerable young people,
and to assess these outcomes in the context of the Borough’s
broader ambitions as set out in the Council Plan, One Stockport
Borough Plan, One Stockport Economic Plan and the Stockport Skills
Plan.

Content

The Cabinet received
the final report of the Scrutiny Review into Post-16 Education and
Outcomes and agreed that:-
 
(1) The Director of
Education be requested to prepare a response to the Children &
Families Scrutiny Committee scrutiny review and the recommendations
contained therein for consideration by the Cabinet at a future
meeting.
 
(2) The gratitude of
the Cabinet be recorded for the excellent work undertaken by the
Scrutiny Review Panel ‘Post-16 Education and Outcomes’
and others involved in the Review.
