The Deputy Chief
Executive has considered a report providing an update on the
Cheadle Railway Station Project, progress on the project to date
and the next steps and requesting that a revised Basic Asset
Protection Agreement with Network Rail for the development stages
of the Cheadle Railway Station project be approved.
It was noted that
Network Rail had provided a revised Basic Asset Protection
Agreement (BAPA) due to cost increases. This was due to a prolonged
planning period and subsequent tendering for a designer for the
scheme, and to align with the new programme completion dates of
December 2024. A revised BAPA was
required which accounts for increased personnel costs, adjustments
to Network Rail fees, and a reassessment of industry risks.
Following consultation
with the Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration & Housing,
the Deputy Chief Executive and the Directors of Place Management
and Regeneration have:-
(1) Noted the contents
of this report, and progress on the project.
(2) Given approval and
signed-off the amendment to the Basic Asset Protection
Agreement.
