The Hearings Panel is a sub-committee of the Audit and Standards Committee responsible for considering alleged breaches of the Council's Code of Conduct by its members. It decides whether a member's conduct has failed to comply with the Code and what action, if any, should be taken. The Independent Person is consulted on these decisions. The panel's membership reflects the political balance of the Council.
