To authorise the publication of the
consultation draft version of an interim policy position
statement.

Reasons for the decision

To take forward one of the actions identified
in the action plan approved by Cabinet on 6th October 2025 in
response to the council not being able to demonstrate an adequate
supply of deliverable housing sites to meet the requirements of the
National Planning Policy Framework.
 
Preparation of the interim policy position
statement is intended to assist communities, councillors and
developers in providing clarity over the implications of the
current land supply position in relation to the development plan
for Stratford-On-Avon.
 
Content of the emerging draft interim policy
position statement has been considered by the Member Advisory Group
established as a result of the Cabinet decision of 6th
October. 

Alternative options considered

1.   
To give authority to proceed with the publication and
consultation;

2.   
Not to proceed with the publication; or

3.   
To require further amendment prior to publication
