Purpose
To grant a revised sublease to the provider of
SDC’s temporary accommodation services contract.
Content
To follow the procedure in the headlease to
surrender the premises known as 27 Little Park and add the premises
known as 22, 24 and 26 Clopton Road to the headlease.
To grant a revised sublease which excludes 27
Little Park and includes 22, 24 & 26 Clopton Road and includes
additional clauses to protect SDC.
Reasons for the decision
The premises to be surrendered are no longer
fit for providing a temporary accommodation service. The premises
to be added are required due to are
requirement for additional temporary accommodation units.
The revised sublease will be a formal lease
(as opposed to a tenancy at will which is currently in place with
the service provider) excluded from security of tenure. It will
contain an obligation to repair the premises demised and not to
breach any of the terms of the headlease.
Alternative options considered
Ruled out option of carrying out works to the
premises to be surrendered as not cost effective.
