To appoint agents to attend the auction of 1
Evesham Place Stratford-upon-Avon to bid for the property up to a
confidential agreed price as specified in paragraph 3.2 of the
confidential appendix.

Reasons for the decision

To secure the building for use as temporary
accommodation by the District Council in discharging its Housing
function.

Alternative options considered

1.   
Agreeing to bid at the auction.

Declining the opportunity to bid at the auction.
 
The Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny
Committee has agreed that it would be impracticable under
Regulation 11 of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements)
(Meetings and access  to Information) (England) Regulations 2012,
to give advance public notice of this key decision, as the auction
is to be held tomorrow, 18 July 2023.
 
The Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny
Committee has also agreed under paragraph 18.10 of the overview and
Scrutiny Procedure Rules that the decision should be treated as a
matter of urgency, thereby waiving the right to call-in.
