Purpose

The report proposes amendments to the implementation date for the hackney carriage and private hire age and emissions standards for existing Tameside licensed vehicles

Content

RESOLVED

That Full Council be recommended to:

(i)            
Extend the emissions compliance date to 31
December 2026 for existing vehicle licence holders with non-compliant vehicles
attached to the licence.

(ii)           
Allow existing vehicle licence holders to
continue to renew their vehicle licence with the same non-emissions compliant
vehicle until the age limit of that vehicle in accordance with the vehicle age
policy.

(iii)          
Adopt the proposed amendments to the Hackney
Carriage and Private Hire Policy and Conditions outlined at section 4 of the
report.

(iv)          
Make permanent the vehicle testing
requirements and accept a standard MOT.
