Purpose

Service review of Building Control and Technical Support teams
to address statutory and regulatory requirements in accordance with
the Building Safety Act. This review builds on previous service
redesign to address recruitment issues, the need for additional
technical support capacity, the need for out of hours coverage for
emergencies, the need to ensure that the Council can meet Building
Safety Regulatory requirements and audit processes and to
incorporate structural capacity to administer the Building Safety
Levy.

That Executive
Cabinet DETERMINE:

(i)    
That the report is noted in relation to the statutory,
regulatory and procedural requirements in relation to Local
Authority Building Control functions.

(ii)  
To approve the additional funding required to implement the
service review of the Building Control and Technical Support teams
outlined in this report.
