Purpose

With the switch from ‘Member
Self Service’ to ‘Engage’, various components of
GMPF’s online presence will undergo major changes. Refreshing
the website now would help ensure consistency throughout, and
ensure it is accessible and user friendly.

A user experience audit was
undertaken by an independent third party, to evaluate the GMPF
website’s overall performance and
usability.
The review is intended to ensure
that the website aligns with modern standards and supports the
enhanced capabilities of the new content management
platform.
The audit findings were presented
to officers highlighting several areas requiring
improvement.

Issues were identified in the
website’s navigation structure, which was found to be
unintuitive and potentially confusing for users.  Website speed and responsiveness were also
noted as problematic, with the moving images on the home page cited
as a significant factor. In addition, accessibility shortcomings
were highlighted, suggesting that the site may not be fully
inclusive for all user groups.  A review and redesign will fix these
issues.
