Purpose

Successful delivery of the
prioritised highway safety programme will help to reduce injury
incidents and the severity of injury incidents on Tameside’s
roads in line with the Greater Manchester Vision Zero
Strategy.

 That it be DETERMINED
that:

 

1.     
Approval is
granted to deliver a Highway Safety scheme on Darnton Road,
Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge.

2.     
Tameside
Metropolitan Borough Council in exercise of its powers under
sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
is granted permission to give public notice of a 20mph speed limit
Order on Darnton Road, Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge and Ridge
Hill Lane, Stalybridge.

3.     
Tameside
Metropolitan Borough Council in exercise of its powers under
Sections 1(1), 2(1), 2(2), 4(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 is granted permission to give public notice of a
‘Loading Only’ bay on the east side of Ridge Hill Lane,
Stalybridge.

4.     
Tameside
Metropolitan Borough Council in exercise of its powers under
Sections 1(1), 2(1), 2(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
is granted permission to revoke a section of ‘No Waiting at
Any Time restrictions’ on the east side of Ridge Hill Lane,
Stalybridge to provide parking bays.

Metropolitan Borough Council in exercise of its powers under
section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 is granted permission to give
public notice of traffic calming features (raised tables)
at the junctions of Darnton
Road / Astley Road, Darnton Road / Ash Grove and Ridge Hill Lane,
Stamford Grove / Harrison Street.
