DETERMINED

Approval is
granted to award a contract to XAIS-PTS to undertake a
comprehensive highway asset condition survey of the borough in
order to effectively manage and maintain the highway network within
available budgets.

Reasons for the decision

Tameside Council recognises the
importance of its highway infrastructure and how an effectively
maintained and managed highway network is fundamental in supporting
the local economy and is a major determinant of growth and
productivity.

With the ongoing deterioration of
the highway network, budget pressures and the introduction of the
Department of Transports new reporting format from 2026 (known as
PAS2161) approval is sought to award a contract to XAIS-PTS to
provide a one-off highway asset management service.

XAIS-PTS have been identified as a
suitable contractor to provide a comprehensive highway asset
condition survey following extensive market research.
