 DETERMINED:

 

1.     
Approval is
granted to allocate £0.020m from the School Condition
Allocation 2024/25 to support the boiler replacement project at
Hollingworth Primary School.

 

2.     
Approval is
also sought for the Council to enter into a grant agreement with
Prestolee Multi Academy Trust to enable delivery of the
works.

The works will
be delivered by the Trust, with oversight from the Education
Capital Project Team to ensure compliance, value for money, and
timely delivery.

Reasons for the decision

The existing boilers at
Hollingworth Primary School are at the end of their operational
life. The proposed works will ensure the school has a safe,
efficient, and regulation-compliant heating system in place. This
investment supports the Council’s duty to maintain suitable
school premises and aligns with the 2024/25 School Condition
Allocation priorities.

 

Alternative options considered

Deferring the works

This would risk further
deterioration of the heating system, potential school closure
during colder months and increased future costs.
