DETERMINED:

The Council
renews the loan of the Manchester Regiment collection for 25 years
and the collection remains in Tameside for future
display.

Reasons for the decision

The Council is planning a
redevelopment of the Museum of the Manchester Regiment and
therefore it is in the interests of the Council to secure the
future of the collection within the borough.

Alternative options considered

Return the collection to the
Regiment.  The Regiment is committed to the collection
remaining in Tameside and it was their suggestion to increase the
loan period from 10 years to 25 years.  The council is committed to creating a new
Museum of the Manchester Regiment.
