That Pure AV be
directly awarded a contract for the procurement and installation of
Audio Visual equipment. 

Reasons for the decision

The report details the proposed
procurement of Audio Visual (AV) equipment to facilitate Council
meetings which take place in Jubilee Hall in Dukinfield Town
Hall. 

Jubilee Hall suffers from poor
acoustics due to its design of high ceilings, large open space and
hard surfaces. Due to this speech clarity is poor making it
difficult for attendees to hear and understand the words spoken
clearly.  The absence of sound absorbing materials
exacerbate these issues.

To better facilitate meetings
within Jubilee Hall, this report proposed the procurement of
speakers which have been specifically designed for environments
with challenging acoustics using beam steering line
arrays.

The report proposed the direct
award of this contract to Pure AV, who have already completed AV
work in Jubilee Hall and have completed other AV projects for the
Council.  A direct award would allow for the equipment to
be in place in the shortest timescale to prevent further disruption
to Council meetings created by the challenging acoustic
environment.
