To enable works to be executed on or near the
public highway ensuring safety of the general public as described
in the Public Notice (Appendix 1).

Approval is given
to advertise the public notice as set out in (Appendix 1),
following the statutory process.

 

II.           
The legal order
(Appendix 2) be sealed to enable the highway to be
closed.

 

Reasons for the decision

To enable works to be undertaken to
the carriageways and footways in this area.

 

Alternative options considered

If the legal notice is not
advertised and the order is not sealed, the road will not be able
to be closed, this will have a detrimental effect on the safety of
the public and cause major delays to the programme of
works.
