That approval be
given to awarded a contract  to
NPS Solar to install solar panels on the roof of The Heys Primary
School at a works cost of £0.88m. 

Reasons for the decision

The DfE have selected The Heys
Primary School as one of the schools receive funding to install
solar panels. The scheme will deliver significant long-term energy
savings and sustainability benefits. It includes 94 PV modules with
an estimated annual usable solar production of 45.52 MWh, resulting
in a lifetime value of £0.286m against a cost of
£0.088m. 

Alternative options considered

Do nothing – rejection will
prevent the opportunity for energy savings and sustainability
improvements at no cost to the Local Authority or the
school.
