Purpose

Executive Cabinet approved a disposal of these two sites to the preferred bidder, TrueNorth Partnerships, on 24 September 2025, on terms detailed in that report. This report was to update Cabinet on progress and provide recommendations in respect of the Capital Receipt following the developer identifying additional construction costs due to abnormal ground conditions following the developer carrying out a number of detailed intrusive surveys to both sites. The report also recommends the acquisition of two adjacent parcels of land to facilitate delivery of an improved scheme, increasing the number of proposed dwellings developed on the site.

Decision

RESOLVED

(i)                That the proposed revised capital receipt for the sale of the two sites to the preferred developer (as detailed in section 5 of Appendix 5) be Approved.

(ii)              That the acquisition of two additional areas of land identified in Appendix 1 on the terms detailed in Appendix 5 be Approved.

The following alternative options were considered: to do nothing or re-market the site.
