Reasons for the decision

The Digital Tameside service does not currently have
the skills, capabilities, or capacity to undertake an assessment of
the current digital landscape and develop a future roadmap or
target operating mode.

SoCITM were commissioned in 2019 to undertake a
similar engagement as set out in this report and therefore the
proposed engagement will build on the work undertaken
previously.
The
outputs from the commissioned work will support the Council in its
aims to improve digital infrastructure and support to both the
Council and for residents and will underpin the Medium-Term
Financial Strategy (MTFS) deliverables alongside transformation of
services through digital-by-default offers and outlining
opportunities for investment in technologies such as Artificial
Intelligence.
