Audit Committee

The Audit Committee oversees Telford and Wrekin Council's audit, governance, risk management, and financial processes. It reviews internal and external audit reports, approves audit plans, and monitors actions taken. The committee also considers the effectiveness of the council's governance, including its Code of Corporate Governance and information security. It reviews and approves the Annual Governance Statement and the Statement of Accounts, and makes recommendations on treasury management. The committee approves policies on anti-fraud, corruption, and whistleblowing, and reviews the annual complaints report to ensure improvements are made.
