Purpose
The Council's Safeguarding Policy is reviewed
on an annual basis to ensure that it includes all relevant links to
up to date legislation, best practice and to determine whether any
other changes are required.
This years review has determined that the following changes are
required (updated policy attached):
1) An update is required to include reference to the Working
Together to Safeguard Children 2023 document.
2) An update is required to include reference to the Prevent Duty
Guidance for Local Authorities 2023.
3) The revised policy includes reference to the Skillgate Level 1
and 2 Safeguarding training which has just been introduced across
the Council.
4) Reference is made to the new portals introduced by Essex County
Council to report concerns about a child or adult.
5) Internal job titles have been updated.
Content
To update the Council's Safeguarding Policy
with minor changes , including best practice guidance, making
reference to the Council's E-learning Skillgate Level 1 and 2
Safeguarding Training, updating internal job titles and making
reference to the newly introduced referral portals at Essex County
Council.
