Purpose

This temporary additional resource will assist
the Development and Building Team meet the challenges with regards
to new statutory responsibilities under the changes being brought
through the Social Housing (Regulation) Bill which comes into force
next year. It is therefore proposed to seek the appointment of a
temporary Building and Maintenance Surveyor’s services, in
order to assist the wider team with the management of disrepair
claims, complaints and general stock inspections (including post
works inspections) and guiding more junior members of staff through
sharing of their professional knowledge and expertise.

Under Section 2, 2.1(c) of the Procurement
Procedure Rules to enter into a contract with G2 Recruitment and to
engage the services of a temporary Building and Maintenance
Surveyor with an anticipated spend of £27,084 over twelve
weeks, the funds for which has been identified in existing
budgets,
