Purpose

A proposal to fund and replace the swimming
pool filter media at the three Council owned Sports Facilities will
be brought forward for consideration by the Portfolio Holder for
Leisure and Public Realm and the Corporate Finance & Governance
Portfolio Holder.

Content

That the Portfolio
Holder for Leisure and Public Realm –
 

(a)   
supports the refurbishment of the Pool filter media at Clacton
Leisure Centre, Walton Lifestyles and Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles;
 

(b)   
authorises the Sports and Leisure Operations Manager to appoint
Sterling-Hydrotech and to enter into
contract for these works, amounting up to £119,145; and
 

(c)   
approves the associated use of up to £48,145 from the Leisure
Capital Projects Reserve accounts to fund the balance of this
project.
 
That the Portfolio
Holder for Corporate Finance & Governance –
 
(a)
 supports the refurbishment of the Pool
filter media at Clacton Leisure Centre, Walton Lifestyles and
Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles;  
 
(b)
  approves the exemption to the
procurement procedure rules due to the specialist work required in
order to enable the appointment of Sterling-Hydrotech;
 

(c)   
supports the entering into the contract with Sterling-Hydrotech for these works; and
 

(d)   
approves the associated use of up to £48,145 from the Leisure
Capital Projects Reserve accounts to fund the balance of this
project.
