To nominate
Councillor Gary Scott to be a director/trustee for the St. Osyth
Priory and Parish Trust (an outside body).

Reasons for the decision

St. Osyth Priory
and Parish Trust is a charity registered with the Charity
Commission (No. 1170037) and a Company registered with Companies
House (No. 09367206). Article 2 of the Company’s Articles of
Association provides that Directors of the Company are also
Trustees of the Charity.
 
Article 36(1) of
the same Articles provides that at least one director of the
Company should (ideally) be nominated by this Council.
 
The Company/Charity
objects are:-
 
“The preservation
of the buildings, monuments and land of historical, architectural,
or construction interest firstly at St. Osyth Priory and secondly
at St. Osyth Parish.”
 
 
 

Alternative options considered

Not to take up the
appointment nomination right. This was discounted in view of the
important work of the Trust.
