Purpose

The Leader of the Council authorised the
extension to the current Household Waste & Recycling Collection
Contract and the Street Cleaning Contract with Veolia Environmental
Services (UKI) Ltd on the same terms as existing and which both
expire on 31 March 2026 in a decision dated 8 October 2024.

This was to allow sufficient time for the procurement process to be
completed and contractor mobilisation following the award of the
new Contract which is due to commence on 1 April 2026. The
extension of the Contract ensures continuity of service.

Content

To authorise the Corporate Director,
Governance to now seal and complete the two Contract extensions to
extend both Contracts until 31 March 2026 to allow for the
procurement process to be completed.
