Purpose

It was agreed at the December meeting of the
Council’s Cabinet that proposed revisions to the
Council’s Housing Allocations Policy be approved for
consultation with current and prospective tenants, residents and
other key stakeholders and that the format and design of the
consultation be delegated to the Corporate Director (Operations and
Delivery), in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for
Housing

To approve the format and design of the
consultation to be carried out with current and prospective
tenants, residents and other key stakeholders in relation to
revisions to the Housing Allocations Policy and the proposed
introduction of flexible tenancies.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - To undertake this consultation and
agree the format and design.
Option 2 - Not to carry out this consultation. However, the Council
is required to carry out consultation before making any significant
alterations to its Allocations Policy and before making any changes
to the management arrangements for its properties.
