Communities and Local Government have settled in full a bid from
the Council for new burdens funding in the sum of £16,195.
The bid for this funding was in respect of costs incurred in
implementing measures introduced in the Elections Act 2022 ahead of
the United Kingdom Parliamentary General Election in July 2024. The
bid was submitted on 30 September 2024 to Government and payment
was received in the Council's account on 17 February 2025.
Content
To accept the funding provided by Government
for costs incurred in implementing the Elections Act 2022 ahead of
the United Kingdom Parliamentary General Election in July

Alternative options considered
To not accept the funding would mean that the
costs incurred would fall to be met by the Council from its funds.
This was discounted as the costs should rightly be met by central
Government.
