Purpose

Grants are made annually to both of these
organisations; they were once again reviewed for the 25/26 payments
to ensure they remain good value for money, especially in light of
the newly adopted External Grantmaking Policy (2024).

Content

To pay small grants for 25/26 to both Harwich
Harbour Ferry (£1,500) and Essex
to sign the Partnership Agreement for 25/26.
Both of these grants are made as part of a contribution to a wider
Partnership for each.

Alternative options considered

Alternative options to not pay either/both
were considered and their value for money assessed, and both were
recommended for payment for 25/26.
This was agreed by Cllr Henderson via a concurrence which is
included in the published Decision. Email with agreement dated
5.3.25 and retained on file.
Each grant was recommended for continued support after
consideration of:

•Subsidy Control elements
•Environmental Impact
•Relationship with Devolution and LGR
