Purpose

The Council has entered into a funding
agreement within the Safer Streets Fund to improve and extend CCTV
coverage in line with the Council's policy and public consultation
completed.
The Council has entered into a contract with Openview Security
Solutions Limited to deliver the proposed works following a full
procurement exercise.
At one of the new CCTV locations, at the junction of Beach Road and
Rosemary Road, it has proved impossible to identify a location for
a new column to be safely located in the footway because of
junction visibility issues.
Agreement has, subject to this decision, been reached with an
adjoining building owner to mount the equipment at high level on
the shop/flat building adjoining the junction and to locate the
electrical and other equipment at that location.
It is proposed to enter into that licence agreement including the
payment of one off sums as a licence fee and for the owner's legal
costs.
The fee costs are offset by reduced work costs resulting in a net
saving of £3,926.63
