Purpose

The current tenant does not wish to continue
and wishes to assign the lease to a person who currently operates a
Pre School from the premises. Officers have carried out usual due
diligence to satisfy themselves that the proposed new tenant is
capable of fulfilling the obligations under the lease.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - To allow completion of lease
assignment
Option 2 - Tenant to surrender the lease - the tenant does not have
sufficient funds for this option and a surrender is not necessary
when assigment is considered
Option 3 - Not to allow assignment and keep the current tenant
– the Council cannot withhold consent to a requested
assignment unreasonably and no good reason has been discovered that
could be used to oppose this request.
