Purpose

To enable TDC to submit a response to this
consultation within the statutory timeframe. If TDC did not submit
a response this would significantly limit the Council’s
ability to influence or understand how energy infrastructure is
planned across Great Britain during 2025–2026 and
beyond.

Content

In summary TDC considers the tRESP East
Context to be reasonably well presented and therefore effective in
helping us as an organisation understand how energy infrastructure
is planned across regions in Great Britain between 2025 and
2026—particularly in its recognition of fuel poverty and the
inclusion of detailed energy mapping covering various sub-criteria.
To enhance its long-term relevance, TDC has recommended
incorporating forward-looking infrastructure schemes, reflecting
anticipated changes to governance structures, and aligning with
emerging spatial planning strategies beyond 2028.

Alternative options considered

The decision to submit a representation has no
direct impacts on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).
